  I'm a fan of Roy's, mostly because of their chocolate souffle. We also had Ahi poke, filet mignon, and macadamia crusted fish. All were delicious, especially the filet mignon.

  Total disappointment and lack of good service at a high price. Used to be one of my favorite fine dining restaurants as i lived in the resort. It has gone downhill. Prefixe menus for 58$ per person without wine. Food is Bland and commercialized. Our server was just rude. Saving grace is the chocolate souffle.

  We have dined at Roy’s on several occasions over the years and unfortunately we agreed, after last night’s experience, that the quality of the food and the ambiance have declined. While we loved the frying dragon sushi roll appetizer, my husband’s steamed ono and my mekajiki (swordfish) were both slightly overcooked. Taking into account Hawaii pricing, we still felt the meal was overpriced. Our server was prompt, friendly and attentive. Despite the high noise level, it would have been a pleasant evening except for the arrival of a loud, drunken, obnoxious party of six who were seated next to us about halfway through our meal. They teased our server in a way that I found embarrassing and quite rude, although she took it very well. We hastened to finish our meal and we paid at the hostess stand rather than enduring any more of the “ambiance” than absolutely necessary. The manager and server were duly apologetic, and noted that they had received a similar complaint from another nearby table. However, we felt that in the interest of the surrounding diners, the Obnoxious Drunken Ones should have been asked once to tone it down and if they failed to do so, then they should have been courteously but firmly escorted out. With all the excellent dining opportunities in the area, we probably will not be choosing Roy’s again.
